Hiroshi Motoyama*, Ph.D. graduated from the Tokyo University of Education with doctoral degrees in both philosophy and clinical psychology. He is both a scientist trained in empirical methodology and a psychic who has experientially gained deep philosophical knowledge. He is the head priest of the Tamamitsu Shrine in Tokyo and is well versed in Yoga treatises. His scientific endeavors resulted in the establishment of the Institute for Religious Psychology, a research facility, and the International Association for Religion and Parapsychology, an international organization. He has authored over thirty books and has traveled widely throughout the world. A central theme of his work is the study of parapsychological phenomena and their relation to religion. He has conducted controlled experiments in extrasensory perception and psychokinesis.
